On 29 January 2010, I posted a comment forecasting that Toyota will bounce back.
Today, it was announced that Toyota retained its title as the world’s largest car manufacturer in 2010, with sales of 8.42 million vehicles, just ahead of the 8.39 million units sold by General Motors.
In a two-part article in Russian published in December 1998-January 1999 called “The Fateful Mistakes of Mercedes”, I forecast that Toyota would become the world’s largest car-maker – which it did in 2008.
